Wow! It looks really shiny and new. It'll surely bring hours of fun to people in the community. I also have mixed feelings about it. I lived across the street from the proposed location for about three years. I loved the greenery, even that spongy ol' grass. I'll feel sad to see the green turn to concrete or asphalt, but will feel happy to know it is a place of joy and memory of Harry.
We are very conscious about the environmental / visual impact of such a new play space and want to work with a landscape designer to figure out as many innovative ways as possible to both design the space to blend into the landscape and to landscape the surrounding space to 'soften' and naturalize the views of the play space.
The pictures we have so far are indicative of the surface but not at all what we have in mind in terms of how it would be designed to fit into the Wolseley neighbourhood.
We are Harry's aunt and uncle and we live just around the corner from Harry's Mom and Dad and his big sister Lydia in Wolseley, a neighbourhood in Winnipeg. At the end of February, when Harry was just ten months old, doctors at the Children's Hospital here in Winnipeg discovered that he had an exceptionally rare form of liver cancer, specifically a Rhabdoid tumour that had metastasized into his lungs and lymph nodes. This blog has tracked Harry's valiant and joy-filled journey from the time he was diagnosed until his gentle passing from this life on August 3rd. We continue to remember and celebrate Harry with occasional messages from his family and reports on the memorial fund set up in his name. We continue to invite you to engage with Harry's legacy by posting messages here.

It is definately a work-in-progress, indeed!
