Dear friends,
Though we don't yet have an update on the details of Harry's treatment plan, we did want you to know that he came through surgery yesterday afternoon with flying colours. Cynthia and Henry had been delayed getting back to him by the arrival of the pathology report, and when they caught up with him in the recovery room, he was already awake and alert, greeting them with his splendidly articulate eyes and what seemed to Henry the clear message: "Hey, I'm here! Where have you guys been?"
I know Cynthia and Henry are checking the blog when they can and will be grateful for all your messages of support. Their world is still too topsy-turvy to imagine answering all the emails and phone calls that have come in. Now too, with chemo scheduled to begin this afternoon, visits to both the hospital and Ruby Street should continue to be postponed.
Many thanks to you all,

Dear Cynthia and Hank,
I have spontaneous and frequent prayers that Harry be carried gently through this healing. It's reassuring to know the chemo is about to commence. I hope you can rest and rejuvenate as you transition into this next phase of healing.
Kindest wishes,
Mariah
For some reason last Sunday I didn't catch on to Russell's announcement about Hendrick. I'll hold you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Russell Loewen.
I spoke with our pediatrician about Hendrik. She told me of a family that she was helping and how they created a schedule for the support that they needed during their child's battle with cancer. What they did was block off periods of time where whomever would be responsible for certain things - caring for their other children, helping with meals, cleaning, laundry, etc. They did this for months out so that there was no question about what needed to be done and who was going to do it, i.e. "ok, who's going to babysit this weekend". Apparently it worked really well for them. Not sure if it's necessary, but I thought it was a good idea so I thought I'd share it with you just in case it would help Cynthia and Henry.

I just wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you and Hendrick. I believe truly in positive thinking and prayer and will continue to hold him and you in my heart.
Also, you ever need a babysitter for lydia Mark and I and Alison would be happy to help out whenever.

Cyn, Henry, and Lyddie,
All of our positive flowing energy is focused on that stunningly beautiful baby boy. And we know that the entire global medical community is working around the clock to learn and develop every possible treatment option for Harry to heal.
We are with you through all of this and we will do anything and everything to support your journey of healing Harry.
